Reflecting on a year of progress and big plans for 2025 and beyond

In this year’s first edition of Power Journal, the HyTEPS Management Team looks back on the past year and forward to the future. What trends and developments do they see?

Christan van Dorst, Manager Technical Engineering, HyTEPS

2025 will primarily focus on stable growth. HyTEPS is doing very well in the segments in which we’re currently active. In the coming year, we aim to strengthen relationships with our existing clients while also attracting new ones. The move to our new office building in Eindhoven is a significant milestone and represents a major step forward for us.

Demand for expertise and advice continues to grow, and we are responding to that. The complexity of electrical grids is increasing, with users looking for solutions to grid capacity shortages. What’s more, while many experienced electrical engineers are retiring there’s a significant shortage of new graduates from higher education institutions, who are capable of developing and implementing future grid strategies.

At HyTEPS, knowledge is becoming deeply embedded across teams. I’m still personally, involved with the technical aspects, but our teams are increasingly taking on responsibilities – that’s a wonderful thing to see. Since  focusing more on management, my role has evolved. Newer employees often see me as part of the ‘executive team’ – an inevitable result of our growth. HyTEPS is expanding rapidly, and that brings change.

Daan Peeters, Sales & Marketing, HyTEPS

Just a few years ago, we had eight employees; today, we are a team of thirty. Our organization has grown substantially, necessitating smarter, more efficient processes. Last year, we implemented a new ERP system, which has led to administrative and procedural improvements. These changes enable us to enhance our service to customers even further in the future. As HyTEPS continues to grow, we will increasingly benefit from this.

In July 2023, I joined the HyTEPS Management Team, after having previously worked at a large consulting firm. My background isn’t in electrical engineering, but I’ve learned a great deal over the past year. Acting as a bridge between customers and engineers has allowed me to gain insights from both sides. I frequently visit clients, attend trade fairs and events, and currently also lead the simulations team. When we discuss simulation studies with clients, I want to understand what’s going on and be able to answer their questions.

As a relative newcomer, I sometimes bring a new perspective, which occasionally sparks positive discussions. That’s exactly what a company needs – it’s healthy. The Management Team members complement each other exceptionally well.

Jorlan Peeters, Managing Director, HyTEPS

When I founded HyTEPS seventeen years ago, I couldn’t have imagined the company would grow to this scale. Our clients value the added value we bring, our employees appreciate the development opportunities we provide, and we are able to play a meaningful role in society. I’m extremely proud of that.

HyTEPS is not only continuing to grow, but we’re also doing this in a positive way. We’re retaining the trust of existing clients while welcoming new ones. Long-term relationships often start with smaller projects, which eventually lead to larger collaborations.

Preserving our culture is crucial: HyTEPS remains a family-oriented company where everyone knows and supports one another. We’re highly educated, but not afraid to roll up our sleeves when necessary. We complement the work of installers and consultants without getting in the way, adding value to the chain.

Recently, we’ve appointed more Team Leads within our technical team, solidifying our organization and allowing us to delve even deeper into complex subjects. We’re tackling increasingly challenging projects, which is being met with positive responses. I can imagine customers and partners seeing our rapid growth might wonder, “Will I still be a priority?” Let me reassure everyone: quality, continuity, and satisfied customers and employees will always remain our number one focus.
