Within the water sector, operational downtime is simply not an option. To keep processes running 24/7, pumps and drives with variable-frequency drives are used throughout. However, this technology creates a creeping problem: increasing grid pollution, such as harmonics. This results in unexplained breakdowns, accelerated ageing of valuable assets and a loss of efficiency. Furthermore, the safety of technicians is paramount, and it is crucial to manage invisible hazards – such as the risk of electric arcs in distribution boards – effectively.
