To determine the exact impact of the video installation on the T2000 network, engineers carried out an integral EMC study using a Spectrum Analyzer and directional antennas. This involved accurate mapping of both conducted and radiated electromagnetic emissions. The measurements showed that radiation from the clock was so powerful that the minimum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for critical communications was not met, completely drowning out the system.
By testing the measurement data against current standards, the technical cause was traced back to specific components. This methodology provided the necessary underpinning for targeted intervention without negatively affecting the overall power supply. The resulting diagnosis formed the foundation for a solution that both increased network immunity and identified harmful emissions at the source.
By addressing the specific components that were causing the electromagnetic noise, the norm violations were eliminated and the installation now operates for many years without disturbing the surrounding network. This active approach ensured that uncertainty about the stability of both the T2000 system and future 5G communications disappeared.
